Morning all...I'm quite sure that many of us watched the Anugerah Bintang Popular (ABP) 2010 Berita Harian live on TV3 last night. I'm not expecting much of the award actually. For the past years, it's getting more and more predictable. But last night was surprising as well as entertaining.
And truthfully, I was looking forward to see who would win the Bintang Popular Award since Dato' Siti Nurhaliza has opted to quit from participating in the award. It seems like a fair decision since she has won the award ten times consequently! That's a full cabinet of awards I would say...Heheheh
Hosted by renowned comedians; Raja Azura, Sharifah Shahira and Zizan of course brought constant laughters in the crowd. They weren't awkward thrown in together so that was a relief. It pains me to see presenters that didn't have chemistry on stage!
With modern classic theme, it was exciting to see almost everyone looking sharp and handsome. Sponsored or not, they sure dressed to impress! And I was sooooo in love with Lisa Surihani's dove colored dress she wore when she won the Pelakon Filem Wanita Popular Award. Not to forget Farah Fauzana's lavender/grey dress she wore last night. She won two awards, Pengacara Wanita Tv Popular and Penyampai Radio Wanita Popular... Loveliness!
The highlight of the night was of course the announced of Bintang Popular 2010. It was an anticipated moment for all since every Top 5 candidates stand a chance to win. I guessed, to relief a bit of tension at that moment, they add another two comedians; Johan Raja Lawak and Ucop Wilcha (famously known for their characters in the movie Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah) as the announcers! The house was uproar with laughters when they came in and as expected, it became more chaotic on stage. At last...the winner was announced. And for the first time another person won the award instead of Siti Nurhaliza.
Last night lucky one is Shaheizy Sam! He deserves it and everybody loves him. Well, at least I do! The acceptance of the award was a bit emotional, with him bringing his mother, senior actress Kathy Musa on stage. The night was closed with a great performance by Dato' Siti Nurhaliza. First, singing Bukan Cinta Biasa with Wonder Girls's Nobody music arrangement. Then to delight of the audience, later singing and dancing the popular routine of the said song.
Tailored suits, beautiful dresses, great performances and unnoticeable blunder makes it kind of a night to remember. True to the words of the person responsible for the award's preparations, last night Anugerah Bintang Popular was different than before.
