Between Viking, Homeless Guy & Stalker

Hi, I'm back again today! Forgot about Wordless Wednesday, I just feel like talking right now. Let start with the weekend. While a big event happened somewhere in KL, I was swamped with books *sort of* courtesy of my sisters. They both went to the PWTC book fair and decided that I NEEDED a pile of new books to read! Thanks to them, I have a months supply of books. Not that was a bad thing mind you.

Then on Monday morning, I got up-close and personal with scones. I would say, it was some record I've made. Five batches of scones to bake and packed. By the time it was done, I was covered with flour! But it was really satisfying, having made something that was requested over and over again because they really like it was worth the effort. Thanks for the request girls and of course to my dear sisters also for helping me!

Okay, so the last book I've reviewed here was Beautiful Dreamer by Elizabeth Lowell. It's not that I haven't read anything... Just that I'm couldn't put my thoughts together into a decent review. Lucky me, in between baking session I always found some time to kill and filled it with reading. Want to know what I'm reading lately?

AJL 26 : You've Got to Be Kidding Me

I'm back!!!

Yes, and I am sorry for being absent from my own blog. I wasn't going anywhere. Still at the same place. But every time I tried to write something my head went numb and just like that, I click the close button. Feeling a little motivated today, I'd like to congratulate all the winners of Anugerah Juara Lagu 26 (AJL 26) which took place last Sunday night.

To fully enjoy the night, I prepared early for dinner. We had crusty Italian herbs rolls with creamy potato soup and tiramisu for dessert. The bread dough was prepared a day in advance and it was the easiest dough ever! And the tiramisu was made that Sunday morning.

Kitchen Invaders 3: Peace, No War

Misunderstood

Mistakes

Missing

Too much wrong and hurt that one can stomach in a day
Staying strong despite dire circumstances
Upholding strength, when everything else is crumbling
Battling demons
Inside and out

World peace
Is it so elusive?

Hand-Fed Little Prince

However you look at it, you couldn't miss that we've over indulged this spoiled little prince.
My dad insisted that the term HANDSOME is more appropriate for him rather than cute.
Not going to argue, at times the handsomeness was there.
But most of the time, Shin is just plain cute!

Ain't No Harmless Cubs

It's midnight post again. With Gavin Rossdale on my playlist, still trying to figure out how may I sketch the layout of this post. I pretty much used up on the ideas and now I was left without words worth reading *is it?*.

Talking about Harimau Muda could be relevant right now since they just won the final match against Indonesia in the 26th SEA GAMES 2011 held in Bung Karno Stadium last night. It was a match to be remembered alright.

Urgh...excuse me. ~__~

The One That Didn't Break

Have you ever wish that you could turn back time?

That's how I felt while baking these sweet little treats one week before Eid. I'm pretty sure some of you are familiar with it. These sweet cookies that will melt in your mouth is called Kuih Bangkit. I have no idea why it was named as it is. But this is the first time that I attempted making it.

Rendang Calls

Salam Eid Al-Fitr to all Muslims!!! ^_^

To begin with, I'm sorry for not updating much during the fasting month. No, I was not swamped with works or anything. It's just that I felt like I was instantly turned into 'vacation-mode'. So the mood for blogging kind of like turned off.

I'm tempted to detail out our journey for raya. But to tell the truth, we (me and my dear sisters) were up so late cooking rendang on raya night that we all passed out after Zuhur. I guess there wasn't much to tell. And if it wasn't for the call from our Pak Teh from kampung, I'm sure we'll slept through until evening. And wasted our first raya sleeping! Thank God for the call...

Shopping In Me

I guess it's rude to put food on display this early in the morning. And it was merely two hours after sahur. So, no. Food is not the topic. If it was any other day, we'll be going for a jog right now. Since we are fasting, the exercise are put on hold. It's not that we can't be exercising during this fasting month. Just that the need to replenish ourselves afterward that seems to be a problem. ^__^

We have at least another half month to go through our fasting before celebrating Eid Al-Fitr. It was evident everywhere that shops, boutiques and shopping complexes are having put up their banners *SALE 50 - 70 %* to attract customers. I don't know why, but I felt that my interest isn't pique by whats on display *too much ugliness if you ask me*.

Piece Of My Mind

Some people could not see because they CAN'T.But some people who CAN see, refuse to do so.

Blind by nature is acceptable compared to blind by ignorance.

What's Up Doc?

Good Morning!!!

One thing that I love waking up to every morning is the sound of birds already up and chirping, getting busy to feed . Kind of like telling me that everything's still in order; at their own place. It's not really ideal to be so optimistic upon today's world. What with all the chaos that happened all over the world. But sometimes, we need some reassurance that we still live and well; ready to perform our duty on earth.

Action-Packed Game

Gotta say that tonight's game (FA Cup 2011 final) between Kelantan and Terengganu is pretty interesting. Since I am Selangor Team's fan, I won't be taking sides. There are lots of tackling going around. One of Terengganu's player already been given a yellow card. And it's only half hour of the game! I bet there's more to come for the rest of the game...

Life's Too Short : Rest In Peace

Remember about the new pet, a couple of tortoise that my sister bought a few weeks ago? The new friends that our Shin-kun loves to play so much. Merah and Putih.

Sadly to say, they are both dead...

Pasta: In Korean

PASTA KOREAN DRAMA 8 DVDs w/English Subtitles
Another late night post...

No need to wonder why I was still up at this hour. I don't want to know myself. As I typed away these words, I was listening to an entire OST of my favorite Korean drama.

You Took My Breath Away

Good morning...

Been raining a lot just now. And the neighbor's cat can't stop screeching at each other. Bet they are practicing their vocal chord or something. But that's not the point here.

Actually, this post is going to be truly personal. I say this upfront so you wouldn't be rolling your eyes up or vomiting all over your computer screen. So please...Take heed of the warning 'cause I'm sure not going to be responsible for any reactions you might have later.

You've been warned. Read more if you dare...

To All Teachers With Love

First of all, I want to wish all teachers in Malaysia *and my dad too though he's already retired* : Happy Teacher's Day!!!

Here in Malaysia, we're celebrating the Teacher's Day on May 16th annually. Though sometimes we'll celebrating it early if the date falls on Saturday or Sunday. What I love most about Teacher's Day was that we wouldn't have lessons for an entire day!

All students will gather in the school hall to watch our friends performing on stage as part of the day's program. There would be poetry recital, choir, drama and singing. The teachers will loosen up a bit on this day and if we were lucky, we could have them singing on stage too! Yeap, we surely love seeing our teachers loosen up for awhile...

By the end of the day, we'll always have a present for our teachers. It wasn't compulsory to give them presents, but it was one way we students show our appreciation towards the teachers. I was always looking forward to this presents giving. The teachers would usually went teary on all of us. The gifts were not always expensive, but the teachers will always feel that they're appreciated. That's what I remembered most. *The perks of having your parents as teachers was that they'll came home with hands loaded with gifts too! Hahaha...I knew they weren't expecting it, but each small gift were shown to us with a pride in their eyes...*

Here, I want to say thank you to all my teachers since I started my kindergarten education all through my tertiary level. Thank you for the knowledge. Thank you for the experiences and of course, thank you for the love. I may not be what I wanted to be back then, but I am not morally corrupted thanks to your teachings. I also value the knowledge I've gained and I respect others. I believe, that is more important.

Thank you, Teachers.

Midnight Craving

Wanting to eat donuts in the middle of the day is perfectly fine. You could just grab them from a bakery if you wanted ASAP. Or make them yourselves if you're so incline.

But craving the sweet yeast ring in the middle of the night is so not helping to reduce your sugar level *Um, sorry. I mean... me* I thought I've got the crave covered just a few days ago.

Yeah... I made the donuts for my baby brother. He loves donuts. And I usually ate one or two pieces only. Not  this time though. Having this feeling makes me want to sing one particular song by The Smiths. Oh please, please, please...Let me get what I WANT...

Close your eyes and imagine this...

Soft, chewy, sweet yeasted dough covered with icing sugar...Or melted chocolate...Plus more chocolate sprinkles on top...Or crushed nuts with melted chocolate...Drool-worthy stuffs begging you to keep another extra piece just in case.

Urgh... And there goes my tummy singing for them already!

Where in the world can I get one now?!

By the way, this song is also a soundtrack from 500 Days of Summer, my favorite bittersweet movie. You'll gonna love the movie as well as the songs in it. They complemented each other. Truly...
