Popcorn Hour

What's your favorite sports-related movie?

I did a little bit of searching and ended up with a couple of movies that were really inspiring and seriously good. So lets watch one tonight okay. It's called Forever Strong, starred by Sean Faris as the leading actor.  The movie was about a reckless rugby player whose perspective on life changed drastically after joining a rival rugby team.

His inability to trust others, especially adults make things difficult for him. Not to mention the set of rules being imposed in this new team. It makes sense however since everything he knew about rugby was taught by his father; which weren't very good examples. His so-called friends also only one step closer to self-destruction. The turn of event that we called fate was actually doing good for him. Though he'll lose his former friends, he gains back respect for himself, from his family and his team.

Between Viking, Homeless Guy & Stalker

Hi, I'm back again today! Forgot about Wordless Wednesday, I just feel like talking right now. Let start with the weekend. While a big event happened somewhere in KL, I was swamped with books *sort of* courtesy of my sisters. They both went to the PWTC book fair and decided that I NEEDED a pile of new books to read! Thanks to them, I have a months supply of books. Not that was a bad thing mind you.

Then on Monday morning, I got up-close and personal with scones. I would say, it was some record I've made. Five batches of scones to bake and packed. By the time it was done, I was covered with flour! But it was really satisfying, having made something that was requested over and over again because they really like it was worth the effort. Thanks for the request girls and of course to my dear sisters also for helping me!

Okay, so the last book I've reviewed here was Beautiful Dreamer by Elizabeth Lowell. It's not that I haven't read anything... Just that I'm couldn't put my thoughts together into a decent review. Lucky me, in between baking session I always found some time to kill and filled it with reading. Want to know what I'm reading lately?

Down On Luck

It's a wonder how a game could unite or divide people. We might have different views over everything. But when it comes to soccer, most Malaysian are collectively supportive of the national team. It's like a plague.

The team spirit is so contagious that even if you are not a fan, you'll still got sucked-in right into it. Too bad that the high spirit was not enough for the team to stay on top. The loss against Syria wasn't so overwhelming. Somehow, it was justifiable compared to the loss against Bahrain.

It was like watching a disaster where you're helpless to do anything about it. The bad moves were made one by one, and Bahrain was taking full advantage of it. They scored three goals within few minutes interval when the game was less than 15 minutes left. It was so devastating to watch after that. But I had to give two thumbs up for Ultras Malaya - the national cheerleaders - for staying put until the end. They are truly the supporters the team needs.

Despite the defeated feeling the team and fans felt - me included - I've got something to lessen the ache. The cake was baked in hope to be eaten in a celebratory mood. Nonetheless, it works in soothing the sour mood... T_T

Ain't No Harmless Cubs

It's midnight post again. With Gavin Rossdale on my playlist, still trying to figure out how may I sketch the layout of this post. I pretty much used up on the ideas and now I was left without words worth reading *is it?*.

Talking about Harimau Muda could be relevant right now since they just won the final match against Indonesia in the 26th SEA GAMES 2011 held in Bung Karno Stadium last night. It was a match to be remembered alright.

Blue Samurai vs Harimau Malaya

Did you watch the game last night?

It was pretty depressing for me. I was kinda hoping that our team will at least play more aggressively against Japan. Turns out that the Japan team obviously is more skilled than our team. From the first kick-off, Japan has been attacking our goal non-stop!

Ain't She Sweet?

What you give, you get back - Anonymous

Ain't She Sweet?Human nature dictates that there's always a good and a bad sides in a person. Sometimes, it's hard to differentiate between a good and a bad one. Because not everyone we've known are wearing their true colors. So that's where our instincts are needed. We could feel who's sincerely being nice to us and who's sugarcoating their words to hide their bad intentions to us *although we could always have a mixed feeling about this every time*.

But don't worry too much about that okay. Actually, I've read a book that makes me thinking about that. I love the way the story goes. The way it's story line enfolded was brilliant. The scenarios linking the pasts and presents. You also get to see a nice bantering between the female and male lead characters. Their conversations were full of sarcasm and I've got to admit that it was hilarious sometimes.

This Is Not Happy Feet

Mr. Popper's Penguins Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young ReadersWhat will you do if you were sent a penguin all the way from Antarctic?

That's what you'll have to figure out in this Jim Carrey's new movie based on a children book, Mr. Popper's Penguins written by Richard and Florence Atwater! I am so hoping that the movie can live up to the book.

Have you ever imagine what a penguin can do to your life? We are talking about routinely-normal kind of life. With a penguin around, there's absolutely no-normalcy afterwards!

What's Up Doc?

Good Morning!!!

One thing that I love waking up to every morning is the sound of birds already up and chirping, getting busy to feed . Kind of like telling me that everything's still in order; at their own place. It's not really ideal to be so optimistic upon today's world. What with all the chaos that happened all over the world. But sometimes, we need some reassurance that we still live and well; ready to perform our duty on earth.

Action-Packed Game

Gotta say that tonight's game (FA Cup 2011 final) between Kelantan and Terengganu is pretty interesting. Since I am Selangor Team's fan, I won't be taking sides. There are lots of tackling going around. One of Terengganu's player already been given a yellow card. And it's only half hour of the game! I bet there's more to come for the rest of the game...

All About The Firsts

Movie night!

Life as We Know It [Blu-ray]My choice of movies usually are romantic comedies. We can always predict the ending by the title alone. Well... mostly. The story won't be too complicated to understand. And you could guessed from the start whose gonna end up with whom at the end *if there're many characters*.

And I've watched one last night. It was long overdue anyway. Both my sisters have watched it months ago. I was the only one left behind. I was thinking that it has becoming a habit of me to shove new movies beneath the hundred others *rolled eyes* that haven't yet been watch.

Sort of to ferment it a bit. So when I'm in the mood to watch the movie, it'll be better. *What kind of analogy is THIS???!*

The Crowd Pleaser

Morning all...I'm quite sure that many of us watched the Anugerah Bintang Popular (ABP) 2010 Berita Harian live on TV3 last night. I'm not expecting much of the award actually. For the past years, it's getting more and more predictable. But last night was surprising as well as entertaining.

And truthfully, I was looking forward to see who would win the Bintang Popular Award since Dato' Siti Nurhaliza has opted to quit from participating in the award. It seems like a fair decision since she has won the award ten times consequently! That's a full cabinet of awards I would say...Heheheh

Killing Time

Mean Girls 2Guess what? I just made myself staying up all night doing movie marathon, going through all the movies I haven't watched yet. Most of them were a bunch of crapped. No wonder they didn't make it to the big screen. Only few were worth watching I tell you. If you are anything like me, you'll probably like it too.

Baking Project : Baked by Daisy

Nine hundred and eighty. That's the number of cookies I made last weekend. And that's what kept me so busy and excited. It started when my friend asked me if I want to join a bake sale. I have never join anything like this, so I said why not. I never knew the works were so consuming, I felt like back in college doing design!

Sudirman : A Tribute

One might recognized Malaysia because of its many incredibly talented people. Take this one person for example. He was a lawyer, a singer, an actor, a songwriter and a businessman. The said person was none other than the late Sudirman Hj. Arshad who passed away on this particular date (22 February 1992), 19 years ago.
